Abstract:

Main problems in development of the technology of functionally new optical materials for modern remote monitoring devices are considered using nonlinear ZnGeP2 crystal as an example. The results of investigation carried out at the Laboratory of Optical Crystals of the IOM SB RAS are presented. Studying the causes of optical losses in ZnGeP2 crystals and their sequential elimination gave us a feasibility to obtain high-quality single crystals to be used under conditions of high-intensity laser radiation. Basic technological and production potentialities of the Laboratory of Optical Crystals are briefly described.
