Abstract:

The possibility to suppress signals from water background layer was analized numerically for the problem of oil films remote detection by laser-induced fluorescent spectra. The gain in temporal resolution of the instrument up to 1 nc is shown to produce only insignificant gain in the signal/noise ratio. Considerably better result may be obtained by using bistatic scheme of the sounding. A simple way to calculate the optical circuit of the fluorimeter is described in the paper.
