Abstract:
A possibility of using the SRS on N2 and O2 molecules is discussed aiming at an increase of sounding range of DIAL technique for measuring minor atmospheric gases. Some estimates of the sounding range enhancement when the absorption of radiation by a gas exceeds its amplification due to the SRS are obtained for typical parameters of radiation and media.
