Abstract:

The line half–widths of CO and NO broadened by N2 and CO pressure as well as self–broadened were obtained using the elastic collision model, which assumes that the molecules travel along straight trajectories with the velocities being dependent of the rotational states of the absorbing molecule. It is shown that within the experimental error the results of our calculations of the line half–widths agree fairly well with the experimental data for different spectral regions. Comparison of our results with the data obtained by Bonamy––Robert and Anderson––Tsao––Curnutte models is also presented.
