Abstract:
The brightness field of the "atmosphere–ocean" boundary is analyzed for the nonlinear transfer functions relating the slopes and the brightness of the image of the elements of the sea surface. A method is developed for estimating the spectra of rises in the sea surface. Some techniques are described for calculating the spatial–frequency filters reconstructing the spectra of the slopes of the waves. An analytical formula is derived to determine the orientations of the brightness gradients under certain conditions of illumination.
