Abstract:

Over the territory of Siberia (50-70°N, 60-110°E) for the period of current global warming (1976-2006) the changes of temperature field, cyclonic activity, and the circulation influence on the temperature variability are investigated. It is shown that for this period the positive trend of annual averaged temperature is 0.36°C/ decade with higher values in some months. The total number of cyclones was decreased by 1.4 event/decade, and this tendency was caused by the decreasing of west and south number of cyclones, while the quantity of north cyclones was increased. The mechanism, which explains the temporal dynamics of cyclones of different directions by meridional temperature gradient, is discussed.
