Abstract:

The quantitive characteristics of the week-long cycle impurity concentration in Moscow have been determined according to the monitoring data at the automated air quality stations. It is shown that the minimum mean daily concentration of pollutant gases (carbon oxide, nitrogen oxides, aromatic hydrocarbons, formaldehyde, sulfur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide) is reached on Sunday. Relative concentrations of carbon oxide and hydrocarbon (without methane) on Sunday fall in range 0.75-0.93. Week-long cycle of methane concentration on the average in the city is absent. Ozone daily-average concentration maximum takes place on Sundays for some stations. Daily-average aerosol mass concentrations (PM-10) reach 0.75-0.93 on Sundays and Saturdays relative to the average week concentrations. Essential distinctions between the average daily carbon oxide concentration variations at weekends and working days have been revealed. Forecasting method of the interdiurnal and intradiurinal impurity concentration variations in urban atmosphere has been refined.
