Abstract:
Measurements of deep-water profiles of transparency and temperature in the Lake Baikal for March-April, 2006 are presented. Optical-thermal manifestations of vertical exchange between surface and bottom waters in frontal zones of the lake at the ice period are considered. The mechanisms of the surface water penetration into the bottom ones in the period of inverse temperature stratification are verified.
