Abstract:

Stationary rotational forced Raman scattering of laser beam in the atmosphere is discussed. The spatial spectrum broadening due to four-photon processes is investigated. Results from computer simulations of the beam profile are presented. These processes are shown to broaden the spatial spectrum by more than an order of magnitude and to distort the beam profile.
