Abstract:

The experience gained in the development of LIDA exciplex lasers intended for use in lidars is summarized. Peculiarities of application of LIDA-based lidars in atmospheric studies are described, and the efficiency of UV radiation conversion into other spectral regions is considered as a function of different parameters of the exciplex laser radiation. It is shown that LIDA lasers can be efficiently used in atmospheric studies by use of the DIAL technique. The exciplex laser radiation (308 nm) can serve both for sensing and for pumping dye and/or SRS lasers.
