Abstract:

We propose an empirical model which allows one to calculate the radiation extinction by aerosol in the near-ground hazes in the wavelength range from 0.4 to 12 mm from the measured values of the extinction coefficient at two wavelengths in the visible spectral range. It is shown that the model satisfactorily describes empirical and calculated models of aerosol extinction for different climatic zones and the majority of types of optical weather (haze, fog haze, haze with drizzle, haze with steady rain, haze with snow or graupel, and ice fog).
