Abstract:

Rigorous mathematical expressions for expanding the transmission functions into the series of exponents derived by the authors earlier are applied in the present paper to calculation of the water vapor transmission functions, which are necessary to evaluate the fraction of solar radiation going through the Earth's atmosphere in the near infrared region of spectrum (2800–14200 cm–1). The results are compared with the data obtained using other methods.
