Abstract:

A photoionization nitric oxide detector on board a meteorological rocket is reported. The results obtained from four experiments carried out in the December of 1985 are presented as compared with other experimental measurements and 1-D photochemical model predictions. It is shown that the theoretical data can be fitted to the experimental observations for the upper mesosphere by taking into account molecules in excited vibrational states.
