Abstract:

Analytic expressions for calculating the optical characteristics of double-layer spherical particles and their derivatives with respect to the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index were derived. The results obtained were compared with numerical differentiation data. The sensitivity of the optical characteristics to the nucleus and envelope refractive index variations for double-layer and equivalent-size homogeneous particles was studied in a wide range of particle sizes and nucleus-to-envelope radii ratios.
