Abstract:

The optical wave refraction angle at reflection from a mirror surface in the atmosphere has been calculated based on a parabolic equation and using linear approximation of the medium dielectric constant profile. The refraction angle value at optical sensing of mirror reflectors is shown to be strongly dependent on diffraction conditions on the emitting aperture and the reflector, as well as on the spatial source-field coherence.
