Abstract:

Methods of aerospace borne passive sounding of the optical atmospheric depth based upon the data on photometric measurements of both the underlying surface brightness near the horizon and the contrast brightness surfaces (for example, "land- sea") are reported. Vertical dependences of light extinction coefficients in the 10.2 to 12.4 micron wavelength range and optical - meteorological parameters are given, obtained during the on board 11-14 aircraft-laboratory technique measurements.
