The results of the numerical solution of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation modeling non-stationary self-focusing and filamentation of high-power ultrashort laser radiation in atmospheric air and water are presented. The comparison of the major characteristics of the light and plasma filaments, formed in these media, is carried out.
