Abstract:

Some results of investigation of such nonlinear low-threshold spectroscopic phenomena in atmospheric gases as saturation, "clearing up" in the absorption line wing, effect of the intense laser radiation on vibration relaxation, and Raman scattering stimulated by bifrequency radiation are treated in the paper. Consideration and practical use of the phenomena in the problems of intense optical radiation transfer and remote sensing of gaseous and aerosol composition of the atmosphere are also discussed.
