Abstract:

The basic characteristics of "photonic nanojets" (the cross-section size, extent, peak intensity), formed in the vicinity of the transparent micron-size composite particles consisting of a core and several shells with different indexes of refraction are considered. It is shown, that changing index of refraction of the neighboring shells in the composite sphere, it is possible to manipulate the parameters of "photonic nanojet" and, in particular, to extend its size or to increase its peak intensity.
