Abstract:

Energy characteristics for different parameters of modeling of preferably oriented hexagonal ice plates are studied. The following parameters: aspect ratios F= 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, incident angle q0 = 0-90, the maximum deviation of the particle from the horizontal plane has been taken 5° for normal and uniform distribution. Tables of distributions of scattered energy among halos, depending on incident angles, aspect ratios and forms of flutter are presented. It is shown that 87-100% of the scattered energy is distributed among parhelic and subparhelic circles. Also, there is no necessity to take into account a big number of internal reflections in most cases. There is exception for thin plates, where big number of internal reflections must be considered, because of frequent total internal reflections from hexagons of the particle.
