Abstract:

An optimal algorithm of estimation of temperature, using rotational Raman spectra of light scattering by atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen molecules, is studied from a position of statistical estimation theory. An imitation modelling method is used for the comparison of the optimal algorithm of estimation with the method of parameter matching and heuristic algorithm, commonly used for the determination of the temperature, using pure rotational spectra.
